Greedy gal that I am, I&#8217;ve agreed to participate in two different literary festivals in one very busy (for me) weekend! \u00a0First up is the <a href=\"https:\/\/addiroad.org.au\/writers-festival\/#artmother\">Addi Roa<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/addiroad.org.au\/writers-festival\/#artmother\">d Writers Festival<\/a> on Saturday the 20th of May. \u00a0At 11:15am I&#8217;ll be part of a panel moderated by the wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michaelakalowski.com\">Michaela Kalowski<\/a> on the boundaries of art and <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/addiroad.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Addi-Road-Writers-Festival-Edwina-Preston.jpg\" width=\"211\" height=\"144\" \/>motherhood, built around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edwina-preston.com\">Edwina Preston<\/a>&#8216;s novel <em>Bad Art Mother\u00a0<\/em>with Edwina and <a href=\"https:\/\/gillianswain.com\">Gillian Swain<\/a>. \u00a0At 245 I&#8217;ll be moderating a session on the &#8216;literary arts of oppression and transcendence&#8217; with Alan Fyfe, author of\u00a0<em>T<\/em>, and DG Lloyd, author of\u00a0<em>Alive in Dubbo. \u00a0<\/em>Tickets are only $25 for the whole day of fantastic events and all proceeds go to Addi Road Food Relief. \u00a0<em><strong>You can watch a recording of this fabulous session:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Addi Road Writers\u2019 Festival 2023 \u2013 Bad Art Mother: Edwina Preston, Gillian Swain, Magdalena Ball\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jrmVIzbQE_A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/library.lakemac.com.au\/files\/sharedassets\/public\/design-with-3-covers.png?dimension=pageimagefullwidth&amp;w=1140\" width=\"396\" height=\"198\" \/>If you&#8217;re in Newcastle or Lake Macquarie, you can come join me on Sunday the 21st of May \u00a0at the <a href=\"https:\/\/library.lakemac.com.au\/Whats-On\/Festivals-Exhibitions\/Write-Here\">Lake Macquarie Write Here festival<\/a> in Belmont where I&#8217;ll be talking with <a href=\"https:\/\/alisabryce.com.au\">Alisa Bryce<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fionamcarthurauthor.com\">Fiona McArthur<\/a> about their new nonfiction books <em>Grounded<\/em> and <em>Aussie Midwives<\/em>, and the art of nonfiction.
