Nearly a year ago, I was invited to join in a unique, global, creative project called Telephone. Today that project was published and it’s amazing. I was sent a video which I responded to with a poem. My poem was sent to an artist who responded with a painting. You can see my work and the prompt and response directly here: https://telephonegame.art/game/artists/magdalena-ball
Or go to the main site https://telephonegame.art and get lost for hours in the incredible connections, multimedia art and connections that have been created in this process.

I was invited to participate in an exhibition at the Goldstone Gallery documenting the atrocities of October 7, 2023, and the wave of antisemitism that followed in Australia. The exhibition brings together documents, installations, film, photography, sculpture, performance and writing into a multi-level, museum-standard presentation to create an inclusive, non-political space for remembrance, truth, and dialogue.
On Saturday, the 27th of September, I’ll be MCing the Sydney launch of Lisa Collyer’s much awaited new poetry book Gold Digger, which will feature a launch speech by Willo Drummond and readings by the author, me, Willo and Elizabeth Walton.
Gold Digger challenges the enduring myths of domesticity by portraying women as breadwinners, unearthing the realities of labour, aspiration, and social mobility. Collyer deftly reveals how women’s work – often overlooked or undervalued – has always been present, from the kitchen to the corridors of power.

I’m delighted to have been invited as a guest to this year’s
