2025 is the International Year of Quantum and Science Write Now has created a phenomenal issue to celebrate. I’m so pleased that my poem “Eastern Whip Bird” has been included as part of this. The poem was first published in my book The Density of Compact Bone, published by Ginninderra Press, and I’ve also included a bit of information abut the poem and an audio here: https://sciencewritenow.com/read/edition-12-quantum/eastern-whip-bird
The whole issue can be read here: https://www.sciencewritenow.com/read/edition-12-quantum/quantum-table-of-contents
Editor Sanjeev Sethi invited me to send some unpublished poems for his specially curated issue of Hooghly Review titled “Fictile Feelings”. I sent in a few poems for Sanjeev to choose from and the one selected is titled “Green Velvet”, a poem about a real sofa.

I was invited to participate in an exhibition at the Goldstone Gallery documenting the atrocities of October 7, 2023, and the wave of antisemitism that followed in Australia. The exhibition brings together documents, installations, film, photography, sculpture, performance and writing into a multi-level, museum-standard presentation to create an inclusive, non-political space for remembrance, truth, and dialogue.
On Saturday, the 27th of September, I’ll be MCing the Sydney launch of Lisa Collyer’s much awaited new poetry book Gold Digger, which will feature a launch speech by Willo Drummond and readings by the author, me, Willo and Elizabeth Walton.
Gold Digger challenges the enduring myths of domesticity by portraying women as breadwinners, unearthing the realities of labour, aspiration, and social mobility. Collyer deftly reveals how women’s work – often overlooked or undervalued – has always been present, from the kitchen to the corridors of power.
